jimmy buffet..an old gem..ESCAPE:
i was tired of my lady
we been together to long
like a worn out recording of a favorite song
so while she lay there sleeping
i read the paper in bed
and in the personal colums
there was this letter i read.
if you like pina colada's
and getting caught in the rain
if your not into yoga
if you have half a brain
if you love making love at midnight
in the dunes of the cape
i'm the love that you looked for
write to me and escape
i didn't think about my lady
i know that sounds kinda mean
but me and my old lady
had fallen into the same old dull routine
so i wrote to the paper
and took out a personal ad
and tho i'm nobody's poet i thought it wasn't half bad
yes i like pina coloda's
and getting caught in the rain'
i'm not much into health food
i am into champagne!
i've got to meet you by tomorrow noon
and cut through all this red tape
at a bar called o'malleys
where we'll plan our escape
so i waited with high hopes
and she walked in the place
i knew her smile in an instant
i knew the curve of her face
it was my own lovely lady
and she said oh it's you
and we laughed for a moment
and i said oh i never knew
that you like onia colada's
and getting caught in the rain
and the feel of the ocean
and the taste of champagne
if you like making love at midnight
in the dunes of the cape
your the lady i looked for
come with me and escape
if you like pina colada's and getting caught in the rain
if your not into yoga
if you have half a brain
if you like making love at midnight
i'm the love that you looked for
come with me and escape
tho the other song i put up late last night .will always have a place in my heart.there's so many bands and songs that can produce some melandcoly(sp?) and good times in my past.some songs/bands .i can't listen to cause the feeling are to intense to reexperience.or i save them like shiny marbles to bring out and wonder over when i need something to pick me up or remind me of certain life lessons.

My god, my youth, ahhh, my youth. It's a good thing I'm still as immature now as I was then. Otherwise I'd come to realize how just old I really am. Hopefully I'm a little wiser.
I still have all my old LPs (800 or so) and I still listen to them all the time. The Clash's London Calling double album has so much more personality than the cd version. It crackles and pops, like I always thought The Clash meant it to be.
It's a lot of fun looking through the albums and finding something I had forgotten about so that when I play it I go back to that time in my life as soon as the first notes hit my ears. Not that I feel any need to live in the past, it's just nice remembering some other good times.
