I got NetBSD 1.6 fully installed on a MicroVAX 3100-30.
It's great but it's a bit slow (25Mhz CPU and 4 megs of RAM.)
It was a pain to netboot since only my 486/100 with FreeBSD could interface with BNC. That and VAX netboot in a proprietary DEC way using MOP to load the initial bootloader.
I am that much closer to true guru status ;-).
