Today sucked, I was cycling up cte-des-neiges (litterally: Hill of Snow, one of the main street across the mountain to go around and west from downtown) and while I was going up I discovered that my bike wouldn't downshift to the granny gear. Intead of admitting defeat (I was using new clip-less pedals that seriously need adjustment) and walking, I forced it in much too high a gear (probably around 1:3) and obviously I had to get up on the pedal to get things spinning after stopping at a red light. I slipped in my right pedal. The bike folded behind my left knee knocking me down, my right leg got in front and below of the chainring somehow. The weight of myself and the bike carved a neat pair of grooves in the rear of my right calve.
To compound thing, the ER (thankfully a block away, up the hill actually) only had one doctor. There were a string of emergency trauma cases throughout the night. I was admitted around midnight and finally treated around 8 am. Too late for sutures, it'll scar up pretty bad now. It sucked.

But hey, look on the bright side... scars are really interesting. Especially when someone asks you and you say something like "I don't want to talk about it" and then change the subject.
