I haven't read a new sci-fi novel in at least 2 weeks, maybe even 3. Actually, the last book I read was The Mythical Man-Month. Brooks is good, it's easy to read and interesting. It's still "work." The whole reason why I try to read fiction is to get away from work.
Speaking of which. When I was in high-school, I would spend hours on the computer hacking codes, setting up things, learning. Now it seems I spend most of my computer time reading blogs, news and watching porn. Granted, I used to do all those things back then too, but I got other interesting stuff done.
It's like work has sucked my will to do interesting and new things out and replaced it with some insipid reheated ersatz.

I also feel the same way about computers, and was thinking about that a few weeks ago. I'm supposed to be putting together a new web site around my training work on the side. Something that I would have just sat and done a few years ago. Now I've barely put up a skeliton. And I find I'm even reading blogs at work. Just totally unispired. WTF
I was thinking it was maybe the kids and lack of sleep or just creeping old age. Maybe it's more. What the hell to do about it though?
