So its Wed night... and I just got back from the library... woohoo. I was impressed with myself because I got so much done today, and only napped 2 hours! But now allow me to regale you with my quest to donate blood for a few minutes.
So it all started in highschool, the private school I went to emphasized community service etc alot. So once or twice every semester we'd have a blood drive. Youre only eligible to donate when youre 18, so when I turned 18 I went the next opportunity I got. As it turned out the needle got all "clogged" up with my skin... (disgusting? try being on the other end of it!) and we couldnt do it. Then when I went off to JHU I found that they have blood drives here at least once or twice a quarter. The first time I tried, I passed out. And today was the second time. I had an appointment so no waiting. I was doing pretty well, determined to succeed. But because that would be anticlimatic the blood stopped flowing into the bag when it was about 90% full. I was crushed. So she poked around in my arm/vein a little more *OUCH* but no luck. And they wont be able to use a bag thats 90% full. It sucks. I also made the mistake of looking at the needle when she stuck it in my arm. Its freaking huge! Its like a metal tube... I was sufficiently freaked out.
Oh well. I was brave and told myself that I deserve lots of affection from everyone surrounding me
Which I have gotten. So thats just 2 hours out of my day today.
PS. the trip to pittsburgh was wonderful. top notch.
