The 240 finally died. Well, it didn't die, but it need $1200 worth of work to get in in the shape I'd want it in, and thats just recockulous.
So....
I had it hauled to the auto graveyard yesteday. The night before I went to the lot it was sitting in to pull the tags. Then it dawned on me to take the CD player for my next car. Then I decided I wanted the grill. So I was walking up Howard ST with a grill under one arm and a car stereo under the other. Right before I passed the Ottobar, there were 4 or 5 brothahs sitting on a stoop smoking a blunt. As soon as I walked passed them they busted out laughing. I don't blame, I probably did look like a walking joke.
Speaking of walking in the city, I had to go downtown yesterday to my bank. Since I don't have a car anymore, I had to take the bus. No big deal I thought. Heck, I even decided to get off a few stops early to stretch my legs a bit. That was my mistake. About 10 yards past the bus stop a homeless woman walked by and spit on me as I was passing her. "Fuck you, you fucking whiteboy motherfucker, fuck you. Yeah, I said it, fuck you whiteboy, you white motherfucker, fuck you, fuck you you fucker...(ect)" "Ohhhhh-K," I thought to myself. Fortunately most of the spit landed on the sleeve of my hoodie and I was able to wipe it off on a building. Only a speck or two hit my cheek. I wanted to clock the bitch upside her head, but I quickly realized that would not be the right course of action for any number of reasons, so I just kept walking and didn't say a word, looking over my shoulder ever 10 feet or so until I got to the next block. Good times...
I'm getting a van on Friday. My band will finally be able to regional shows on the weekends as well as multi-week tours in the summer. Not that we haven't done those things thus far, but renting a van is way pricey. So thats the upshot of my car dying. The downside is that I am and will be more broke than usual for about a year. Hopefully I'll be able to find a second job working the door at a club or something, but who knows...
Anyone wanna buy some sperm?
I really like living in Hampden. Its not quite as clean as Charles Village, but its more of a community, there's more within walking distance. Plus my new roommates are really nice. Not that my old one's weren't, but this is the first time that I've moved in with strangers.
