So just a slight recap that Spain was really great! While I was there I spent a week in Barcelona and a week in Madrid and I definitely favor Barcelona more so than Madrid. So I thought that I would get my page going again by indulging in a little Blog Homework! This week, @missy, @rambo, and @lyxzen are asking us to recognize our Favorite Athletes and Sports Teams! So where do I begin?! I'm a pretty big fan of sports in general but my favorite "major league" sports are definitely basketball and baseball. Hmm well I'll start with the basics them which would be my favorite teams! I'm from New York so this is going to be controversial but I don't give a shittttt!!!! My favorite baseball team is the New York Mets, and my favorite basketball team is the Boston Celtics which I'm sure @wicked would agree with 😉 Now, in terms of players I have to throw it back a little to those like Mike Piazza before he left the Mets for the Cardinals. I remember as a kid being a HUGE Piazza fan because he was good at everything! *insert steroid abuse here* This guy was a great catcher in the field and a monster at bat. Although it's been a while since the Mets won a series I have very fond memories of going to Shea stadium with my pops to watch tons of games! Moving on to basketball with the Celtics!! I got into basketball when I was like 16 but once I began watching games I was instantly hooked! And once I began watching Knicks/Celtics games it was the way the ball was handled on the court that lead me to my favorite team. They seemed to be wizards at setting screens and at the time had a big 5 which isn't very common in basketball. This leads me to my favorite players! Rondo, Pierce, Allen, Garnett and Perkins. These men were amazing on the court and although they are not together any longer they still reside in my heart as a reason to really love basketball. Finally, as a retired gymnast I have to point out some of the incredible athletes that inspired me during my gymnastics career! Dominique Moceanu was by far my biggest idol as a kid. I can actually remember watching the Summer Olympics in 1996 and just wishing I could be exactly like her! I was also a very big fan of old school Soviet gymnasts because their training was just ridiculous. Nadia Comaneci and Olga Korbut really set the bar high for Artistic Gymnastics! I'm hyped that the Summer Olympics are approaching because I will always love gymnastics even though I no longer compete or even attend training. A series of injuries forced me to retire and it was very upsetting to me! Gymnastics taught me discipline and that hard work really does pay off! I hope you all enjoyed this blog post, it's my first in a while and I always enjoy doing these! No matter the topic I end up in a reminiscent state and it brings me joy! So as always, THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE! xoxo Sarabi_
