Time for some SG HOMEWORK so I hope you're all ready! This weeks topic is "Your Favorite Story from Your Family History". Phewwwwww this is a brain rattler for sure! (As per usual) Well, I'm going to talk about how I was introduced into this world. My parents met on a blind date through a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend etc. When they met, my mom had some "baggage" as they call it because she had been previously married and divorced with a child who was probably around 10 when my parents met. This is where the story becomes incredibly inspiring... My mother is 9 years older than my father so she knew what she was looking for; she was ready to settle down and try the "family" thing again. During the time of their dating my father was 23 years old. With open arms he embraced my mother and her daughter from a previous marriage and didn't think anything of it. To him, this was perfect. This is what he wanted. In 1990 my parents got married and I was born ohhhhhhh you know about 9 months later haha. My father was only 26 when I was born, now with a 13 year old daughter and a newborn me. Ironically, the age gap between my father and my sister is exactly the same as the age gap between my sister and I. I grew up in a home where my older sister called my pops dad and he wouldn't hesitate for a second to call her his daughter. Considering I'm going to be 25 in July, I'm realizing now how big the package was upon my parents marriage. He was so young! However, he took it in great stride and set a huge example of a "functioning" family dynamic. 4 years later my little sister was born but this is irrelevant to the story. (sorry sister!) Fast forward to now, my big sissy has 4 kids and my dad couldn't be more proud to be their grandpa. He would truly do anything for this family and I've seen this first hand. He even went to the extent of naming his boat "KACHDEM Girls" after all his girlies! (Katie, Annalee, Christina, Helena, Danielle, Elizabeth, and Margie) To me, seeing my father be the man he is on the daily is inspiring and makes me feel so grateful to be a part of this huge family of women! It wasn't until 2014 that my sister finally had a son who is the first boy ever! My sister also gave her son my fathers name as his middle name and this made my dad so happy! He is truly a hero to this family.. always there to save the day! He is truly the fuckin man! I love him so much! My parents just celebrated their 25 year anniversary in October and they are going strong, still so in love with each other <3 I'm so happy for them and truly blessed to be here because of them. Thanks SG community for reading my blog posts even though I tend to ramble on for days and as always, @missy, @rambo, and @lyxzen thank you for the opportunity to even get on here and write freely. I love the blog topics and they tend to bring me back to some really good memories that I will never forget but sometimes I just need my memory jogged for a second! I love you guys! THANKS FOR LETTING ME SHARE! xoxo Sarabi_
