*Jumps for joy*
I'm back from China!
I'll be prepping up the photos for allt he world to see (resizing them...)
It was wickedly enriching trip, China is really, Really something else. Absolutely indescribable. I'm not saying it's Fantastic, it isn't. There are stll so many things wrong with it. but it has come a long way. and it's going to go a long way.
The people there are filled with optimism such as you wouldn't believe. Everyone works, I don't know whether every soul has a goal, but they work, and they believce in their country.
The costal cities are like a theatre backstage. Everything is under constrruction, prepping itself up for some gret show. Forget all the fears about an over heated economy. When you're actually there, that thought cannot possibly exsist.
There is still so much for China to do.
In Shanghai, the city's air is laden with pollution, but it's also saturated with the beauty of progress and potential. Courtesy for people and the environment is really a luxury for urban rich countries; and don't blame China ffor being a cesspool now, because, when you go there, you know, in under a decade, it won't be.

(If you replied to me before I wouldn't have seen it; I only get the heads-up when someone replies in my journal and my comment number goes up. )
PS: I know what you mean about Asians dealing with non-Asians; my most recent experience was a trip to Taiwan where I had to make sure I wasn't imposing myself too much on conversations.
