When oh when is my set going to go live...
I saw Apnea's Salon set. That was really lovely. Maybe I should ask my hairdresser for his permission too *grin*
Well, today was really weird.
The college made a bunch of us visit this home for the disabled, and we went with the director of this year's theatre production. He's gay and totally well... how shall I put this, elitist. You know, ultra modern, and ultra intelligent. It was really weird.
So about 15 of us from this year's production were at the home, and we were just standing around doing nothing. We're supposed to interact with the residents, but how can you expect us to when we're all just totally freaked out by all their screaming and grunting and god knows what other noises.
Anyone that valued intelligence or even just complete... sentience... will not be able to stomach seeing people like that. Not on a first visit anyway. I don't think I can ever stomach anything like that. I literally felt sick.
It was so retarded. I felt like a visitor to a zoo. There was actually some dude who took us to the wards and gave us a brief explaination of the disabilities.
I think it's absolutely retarded of the government to make something so pointless -not to mention degrading, for the residents- compulsory. They didn't like us there. I doubt most of them did. Someone actually told us to shut up. Even though it didn;t sound very much like shut up.

My old high school made me visit a disabled school for some community service... I don't think people get as much out of it when they are forced... the idea is to do it because you want to not because you're forced. Then both the volunteers and the disabled get the most out of the experience.
I can't wait to see your set!
