I love seeing so many people online with wonderful tattoos and piercings and crazy hair. It makes me so jealous! I always wonder, though, how do these people have jobs? In my experience, the professional world has been a fairly hostile environment to what some people refer to as "alternative" style. Most places I know of even limit the number of ear piercings you can have at work and definitely do not allow facial piercings. My workplace only allows for a maximum of 2 ear piercings per ear (though many managers are fairly lax about that), no facial piercings, no unnatural hair coloring, no visible tattoos. It's unfortunate that so many people are still so close-minded, but I like to think that since so many lovely people on this site have so many different tattoos and piercings and such, perhaps things are changing in the larger world. I certainly hope that is the case.
