Its kinda been one of those weeks. My knee has been causing me so much pain, and its hardly subsided with painkillers during the day, that instead of taking more painkillers, I've taken the one thing I know masks any pain - copious amounts of alcohol!

Well, not massive amounts, but enough to put a good mask onto the pain before going to bed. Has made for some pretty good sleep.

But, the main thing this week is that my bosses replacement is a really decent bloke with ethusiastic plans. I'm already going to be given several more tasks - with a possible payrise at the end of summer - which I could really do with.

I had Friday off anyway, and I saw the doctor. Well, he is pretty concerned about my knee. At the moment there is too much swelling in the knee to assess properly - not only that, he's a bit concerned about my ankle too, as he was trying to get a measure of pain in my knee by twisting my foot...well, my ankle just burned in pain.

So, anti-inflammatories for a week, and a second assessment next week to see whether I need intense physio or a referral to the hospital for a scan and possible surgery.

Not really good....but I'll get through!
