Huge update.....slacking a bit this week!!
Nothing sordid, sadly.
TUESDAY
Standard day...nothing to write home about. Did a Dolly Parton and then got myself home ASAP and just chilled out doing sweet FA....twas a nice relaxing evening, and we are kinda getting decent enough weather, And the Grilled Salmon with butter fried pasta with chopped tomatoes and olives stirred in was sublime.
WEDNESDAY
Another formulaic day of work. Went food shopping after work, and kind of splashed out a bit further than I wanted to at first and ended up with an even balance of junk and healthy. Dinner was curried potatoes (home made Rogan Josh sauce) with popadums, followed by various dips and snacks whilst watching the European Cup final....
...and, no matter how big a rival Liverpool are to Man Utd, I was till glad that they managed to pull off the most unebelievable win from 3-0 down. I just wish I knew that the halftime odds for a Liverpool win were 350-1.....
THURSDAY
Woke up with a slight head on me after a bottle of red wine the night before.
Arrived at work on time-ish...which was more than could be said for my boesses replacement who had decided that the place just wasn't for him....oh well, these things happen. Can't blame him, to be honest. Three days isn't quite a record though....an old project accountant came in for a day, drove in on the second day and we wondered where he'd got to, so my old boss gave him a call to see where he'd got to. The guy said he just didn't fancy working here....odd thing was, there was a sound in the background on the phonecall that my old boss could hear in the office....
The guy was in the car park and had been there for two hours and hadn't told us!!!!
So, there was a mad scramble to find a new guy...may have one, but can't start till next week. Unless he gets a better offer between now and then.
After work, I was all set for a quiet night in. and then had a staggering loss of willpower when a friend called and asked if I fancied a couple of drinks.....
...I crumbled like sandstone. Had a few drinks in the beer garden, and his fiancee joined us after work. I really should have gone home when that bar closed at 11.00pm...but mob mentality took over, and I carried on to a little place called The Basement Bar for The Freestyle Collective (well, Leicester's version of the NYV band). This was just brilliant...hip-hop, motown, soul, reggae with an MC and an open mic for allcomers.
Totally brilliant night. Got home drunk at 1.30am, and stayed up till 3....and was up at 7 for....
FRIDAY
Could I have done any less work today if I even tried? And still be ahead of where I was scheduled to be?? Was odd, but I was just there to make up the numbers really...
Left at 3.00pm (normal finish time) and walked home in the sun...and was greeted by an Amazon order (the fucking fantastic Single Frame - "Wetheads Come Running" and a CD from a friend.
Had a pretty relaxing night and now have a three day weekend to look forward to!!
Take care and have fun!
