Ah.
Its Sunday....I can't really say that I've done that much since Friday, but a hell of a lot has happened....and for the most part it has been entirely unexpected.
After a pretty uneventful Friday which largely (erm, wholly) consisted of recoveing from Thursday, I managed to haul myself out of bed on Saturday morning at a pretty reasonable time.....that time being 10.30am. I'd got everything that I needed to do pretty early, and had the rest of the day to myself....and the night out.
After doing a bit of writing, I proceeded to my friends house for a BBQ. Now, the weather was threatening to rain, was a little windy, but generally quite decent for this time of year. For the last two BBQ's there there has been an external curator of the BBQ proceedings.
After viewing the equipment, I noticed that the legs of the BBQ that was intended to bake the fish on was "a little wonky", but I was assured that it was fine and had recently stood up to a thorough going over.
Well, minutes after being lit, it went over. The garden was alight, and several Bonsai trees were in danger of becoming severely, well, burnt to nothing. Thankfully, the collective fire sense of 10 people saved the day. The fire was doused with that miracle of science known as water, and with a few bricks and brave hands, the legs were removed and the wonky BBQ was upright and in the mood for functioning again.
The rest of the BBQ itself passed without incident, and it was then onto the town. A few drinks here, a few drinks there....and then it was onto the final Tube Bar ever (a night a couple of friends have run for 8 years). It was a damn good night, if a little emotional in places.
I spent most the night either dancing like a maniac (The Clash - "Rudie Can't Fail" and My Bloody Valentine - "You Made Me Realise") or chatting to my friend....who I also really fancy....more than just a passing fancy, kind of a really concentrated one. But time is probably needed there.
Well, she gave me a lift home and we sat and chatted while I burnt her some CD's - good that we have very similar music tastes to start with. She left without incident...but theres always next week.....
Today got off to an inauspicious start when I was woken up to an almighty racket outside....roadworks....on a fucking Sunday. Great.
Still, was out of the house just after high noon and down for lunch with friends. It was during the next few hours that I received some quite frankly shocking and brilliant news - my best mate is engaged. I say shocking because he's only been going out with her for a mere two months. Its great though, but he was the first one to criticise another friend for getting engaged to someone after three months....
Its just odd...things have moved so fast these last few months. No surprises from this young buck though....
