It's been a while....and it's been an odd week. I'm sat here now off work with food poisioning. I spent all last night vomiting and sweating. It has absolutely nothing to do with being drunk for 48 hours straight. It has everything to do with buying poor quality "reduced" food when in that drunken state....the two are linked, but you reap what you sow.
So, what's been going on? Well, last week at work was largely mundane and not worth talking about! The fact that for the most part I was bringing work home with me didn't help the cause. Tuesday night I learnt a valuable lesson in being easily led down the path of least resistance where I ended up in a club with friends....friends that did not have work the next morning....
The weekend finally came and it started pretty much straight after work on Friday....quick pit stop and out by about 7.00pm....set up the bands for my friend's birthday party and then DJed afterwards. It was a great night - caught up with a couple of old friends that I'd not seen for a good few years, and then danced the night away behind the decks!
It also made my mind up about my club night - I'm continuing it and sacking the girl that no one likes.....basically because the night is going to be axed because of her involvement.
A good night and I got in at....I think it was 5.00am or something.
Saturday....well, I was still drunk when I headed to the pub to meet a few friends at about 3.30pm.....and it showed. Quite a mad day because we were all in a pretty goofy mood, which made for some riotous conversations. We eventually showed up for a friend's house warming party and had a really good time....
....but it was odd....very odd. My friend's girlfriend had a friend of hers visiting and we got chatting straightaway and got on really well. It was all very tactile and to end up sleeping on the sofa hugging each other to sleep. Then my friend wakes us up and tells me that her boyfriend is in the kitchen and waiting for her....
...my heart sank and naturally I really thought I'd either missed something or was ignoring the obvious. Who knows? I felt really embarassed....that said, at no point did she let on to me and at no point did he say anything to me when I was clearly occupying all her time. Just odd all round.....and maybe alcohol blinded us all somewhat.....or maybe their relationship might have been a bit rocky.
I dunno.....just a strange and awkward situation really.
....I made my way home eventually and got about 3 hours sleep before being "summoned" back out by some friends to watch the football. I was clearly spaced out by this point and still very, very drunk and emotionally rollercoastered! Nevertheless, had a good laugh with them and then ended up at the tribute show for a friend who died earlier this year. The bands were all good and it was good to see lots of people that I know and make several new friends too.
And now here I am....still feeling sick and sweating out this food poisoning fever. Horrible really.....but one of those things I guess!
