oh right. well. as for details, um, i went to a party on friday with metalheadgirl and she is the shiznit. unlucky at parlour games, but we'll let that slide. i gotta admit that one of the highlights of that night was meeting dj johnny underpants. that has given me many a giggle over the past few days. also it seems that tequila and grenadine is now an acceptable cocktail to serve. when did talaxians take over frickin happy hour, people! it's a damn abomination is what it is.
as for saturday.. i wasn't sure about it, bc the girl i was going to hang out with had been drunk since about 9 in the morning (o winery tour: i will take you someday) and i'd never met her before. i was a little intimidated by the thought of catching up to all that liquor, so i forced myself to experience a first: buying liquor at the corner store from the man in the scary blue gloves (two by two, hands of blue) and drinking it in the street. well, actually i took a sip, decided i couldn't do it that way, and mixed it with orangina.. and drank it in the taxi. lol.. i love being a square. even the most mundane rule-breaking is exciting. sooooo i get to the bar we're meeting at. this girl and her friends (who have been in a car accident and are drinking away the mostly financial pain) seem really nice and the whole evening was just really easy. which is strange, bc i'm an awkward social mess most of the time. at any rate, i was hoping just to have a friendly outing, but she bought me drinks and sat on my lap and generally made me feel pretty and i ended up with a feeling of fitting in.. not feeling inferior, or superior, or both at once.. just comfortable.. yet kind of energized.. and a little drunk
all these new friends excite and delight me! thanks for believing i'm not a serial murderer, guys. it means a lot.
