Weekends. Ahhh.
This was a pretty good one, beleive it or not.
Friday, lets see... I worked until about 0030, then i didn't get home until about 0130. I had Drill on Saturday and woke up at 0430 to get ready, and i was there by 0700. Early. Not to bad for the slacker soldier that everyone thinks I am (long story, made a lot of mistakes when I first got there, fixed the problems since).
We cleaned our gas masks, and then were released at 1100 to go get changed out of uniformgrab our families and head to the family picnic. My 1st line sergeant got promoted. It's been a long time coming for him.
I saved a kitty at the VFW Post where the picnic was. There was a rather large, beautiful cat in the parking lot. He had a collar on, but I knew he wasn't an outdoor cat. He was scared to be outside, i could tell. But he was such a sweetheart. So I scooped him upand drove him to the SPCA. He was adopted out by them, so they had his owner's info in their database. They are going to call them and then send me a postcard when he is returned to them or re-adopted. I felt so warm and bubbly inside.
After the drunken picnic (free beer), I went to my mom's for a nap. Then around 0030 Sunday morning, I went out bowling. AFter bowling I drove home and slept in my car until 0630 for no apparent reason, woke up, then went to my own bed for the first time in a week. Slept until 1230, then watched all the Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis episodes I missed Friday night (God, I love DVR) and then cleaned my room.
I had to work at 1630, and so went in to Applebee's. They sent me home at 1700. Great, I went through 2 gallons of gas that I can't even pay for with the 30 minutes that I worked.
Went to my cousin's graduation party, and her brother was surprisingly home. I haven't seen him in 2 years.
He is in the Airforce and stationed in Rammstein Germany. He's home now because he is going to Iraq on the 16th. Pray for him and ALL the other soldiers out there, please. Even if you don't beleive in the war, pray for us. We are but pawns. We don't have any say in what we have to do over there, but we do it anyway. And even if we don't beleive in it, some of us die over there anyway. Pray that no more of us die overthere. Pray that we all come home safely.
No arabic school in Monterey for me. I get to take the 6mth version at home, here in Buffalo. Then I'm getting deployed for 14 months in March.
Hopefully I won't be going there with no one to come home to...
Went to Comix Cafe for some comedic entertainment tonight. Went wtih Conor. Had a lot of great laughs. The event was Comedy Sportz, which is a "Who's line is it anyway?" style improv show. They played a game called "a day in the life" and i volunteered to offer up a strange day in my life. So I offered my billy idol story. yeah, by the time they got through it, i woke up hungover in my car that morning, with 2 old men and a hooker. then i met a girl named molly and started flogging her. then billy idol tore my t-shirt of my back. then my mother turned into a skinny white boy that played beer pong with who said that if we don't win i get disowned. guess you had to be there.
AFter the show, we wentto Spot Coffee and I got myself the usual... a Chocolate Chai Latte.
Goodnight to all.

Have you thought of doing the POW thingee as a set - my mind runs that way, I'm afraid. I think it would be unique, esp. if you consider doing it in B/W.
