Here is what happened that I need some advice on...
My boyfriend and I were going to just go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium together on our own. My friend asked me what I was doing on my birthday and I invited her and her 2 year old girl, my little niece who I love so much, to come. The Monterey Bay aquarium is 2 hours from where she lives, but I live in Santa Cruz for college (until Thursday when I am done forever and get to move back home), so she was going to come to my apt first then we would all go together so her daughter could walk around and stuff. She then asked me if she could bring her friend because she was worried about the baby being fussy on the drive. My boyfriend finds this particular friend annoying, they only met once and they barely talked but he found her very annoying. I told her "umm I guess so, but I'm not sure" and so I had to tell her that my boyfriend found this friend annoying and I didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable because I would feel uncomfortable. She kept pestering me about it so I finally just said no, I don't think it would be a good idea, it's my birthday and I want no drama or stress or anything. She then said she already asked her friend and she said yes and now she has to cancel with her and tried to guilt trip me about it. I then changed my plans because of her to go to Monterey on Saturday and the SF aquarium Sunday because it was closer to her house and we could all go together. I went to her house on Wednesday and she said that her friend was sleeping over Saturday night and I said I'm sorry I just don't think it's a good idea. We had everything figured out it was all great, then Saturday night, the night before my birthday, she said that she will not disinvite her friend because that would be very rude. So I said ok, well have fun, because we weren't going to go and ya. She then got all pissed at me and said my boyfriend was passing judgment on her friend and didn't believe that was the reason that I didn't want her friend to come. She just got so mad at me so I kept apologizing and trying to make it better but she was being stubborn. On my birthday, I just felt sad because of it and because I felt hurt by her. I texted her and said "I hope you are having a good day" and she said "i hope you are having a good birthday". That's the last thing I heard from her. She never said happy birthday, or posted on my fb wall saying happy birthday, and I texted her apologizing and everything and she hasn't replied. I'm assuming she needs space and I feel like this is mostly her fault. I don't feel like I did anything wrong but her and her friend make it seem like it is my fault.
Am I crazy??
Thoughts? Advice? I'm so confused and sad =[

But I agree. I think the second one would look really nice.
