I want to take my mom to France.
She's 63 years old today. Happy Birthday, MOM!
She is strong and smart and she has always been there for me when I needed her. She has always supported me even if she didn't like what I was doing. She has always let me make up my own mind. She cares about all of the things that are important to me, whether or not they are important to her. She is my absolute best friend.
She raised my brother and my sister and me alone. She worked full-time and she did the very best she could with what she had. I was lucky to be the youngest and get to have her for a year by myself after the siblings moved out. She's an absolutely wonderful person.
Anyway, she's miles away right now and I can't celebrate her birthday with her. She is staying with my sister in Missouri to help her catch up on bills. She'll be back in Tennessee in August, though. And once she gets settled in, I want to surprise her with a trip to France. The only thing is that I have no money. So, when something comes up that I need, I'll just have to sell something or get a part-time job or something. So, if anyone could help me out with anything, traveling, planning, knowing what places to see when I get there, etc. let me know. Neither of us have ever been overseas.
Guided tours, places to stay that are a lot cheaper than hotels,
Oh, shit... and I need a passport.
I did get some sculpting done last night, like I wanted to. None of them are finished. One needs a lot of work and two just need to be painted.
This one I'm going to turn into a small desk lamp. I think it will be fun. It's about 6" tall, I think. That's just eying it, though. Not an actual measurement.
And these two are just going to be painted and maybe glazed, but I don't know. I don't really like shiny sculptures. input, please?
I'm catching up with an old friend today. It's always nice to hear from old friends.
I'm feeling kind of mellow today, so this is what I've been listening to:
Wonderwall - Oasis
I would die 4 u - prince
What's Goin On - Marvin Gaye
Reasons Why - Nicklecreek
Sound Of Pulling Heaven Down - Blue October
All Of This - The Cure feat. Blink 182
Romeo And Juliet - Dire Straits
Human Nature - Michael Jackson
Think Twice - Eve6
Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden
I'm also happy, because my husband worked last night, but doesn't work at all today or tomorrow. Maybe we'll get some time between wrestling with the kiddos to cuddle up and watch a movie or two.
A movie I watched night before last that I highly recommend: Drool
I hope everyone has a good day. It's still nice and cloudy out, but no rain so far in Murfreesboro.

femlover:
Happy Birthday to your mom! She sounds like an amazing woman. Hope you two get to see France! The sculptures look pretty sweet. I like the sound of that first one being a desk lamp. Enjoy some quality time with the hubby!
