I find the best 2 rules for living a joyful and entertaining life are:
1. Be a good person, who tries to be a better person.
2. Be completely enchanted with yourself.
In the case of rule number 2....some people might mistake being happy with who you are (especially if you joke about it) as having an ego. It seems unfashionable to have any sort of ego, no matter how small.
But i don't care....i'm not going to be self-depreciating for the sake of being politically correct.
I am not vain, self-serving or self-righteous. And i find as long as someone lacks all of those qualities...they can have an ego, and not be revolting.
Which is where rule number 1 comes into play. If you truly are a good person trying to be a better person, you can never truly over indulge in your own ego.
It's impossible.
But i mean a truthful good person. Not one who does things to look good, or to put themselves on a pedistal for praise. But for themselves, and for those who benefit from it.
Just an observation / opinion......
