"Waaaah censorship, give me my Nazi child rape set back! It was soooo edgy!"
First of all, this is a website. A private club, not the damn government. Go read the fucking
FAQ and TOS. Staff can put up and take down whatever they damn well please, because it's their house. Don't like it? Cancel your membership.
Nana is free to explore whatever fantasies she pleases. I am free to consider them disgusting. Nazi fashion and rape fantasy are not uncommon fetishes, but this softcore mainstream website is not the place for them.
The next person who says the phrase "free speech" gets their inbox flooded with pictures of
Nana wearing a shirt that says "PEDOPHILIA IS NOT A CRIME", Nana in a Nazi hat and armband, Nana sporting a t-shirt quoting Goebel, the Nazi propaganda minister, Nana's photo captioned "Heil Hilter". Sorry, but she's deleted the photos she uploaded to SG with a swastika painted on her chest.
Still want to defend her set? Talk to a victim of rape, because there are plenty around here. A lot of rape survivors found the set an emotional blow to the head.
The worst part? It wasn't even a good set! Remember, this is coming from me, a woman who decapitated Coralee in one set, loves horror movies, and listens to metal with all that Satanist crap. I am by no means PC. I am all for shocking art that pushes the envelope and makes you think. Nana's set did none of that. Beyond being well shot by Albertine (what was she thinking?), there's no merit to this set.
We have a little girl in a setting reminiscent of an otherwise completely unrelated Japanese movie. She's wearing a brooch of the insignia of an SS unit that mainly guarded concentration camps. A soldier-looking man offers her candy that knocks her out (again, a common practice by the Nazis during WWII, a German member here tells me). He slings her body over his shoulder. A frame says "Two Hours Later". The next frame shows her unconscious body dumped in the dirt, her panties around her ankles. It looks like a crime scene. She wakes up, and for the rest of the set she undresses, looking into the camera with a deadened yet coy expression. That's it.
While she claims that it isn't a child rape set, "just a rape set" (quote taken from the SG Lounge), it's not just her childish dress that evokes a child protagonist, it's the offering and acceptance of candy, the finger in the mouth, all those little-girl attributes Nana shows in her other two sets. So what if we all know she's 19. She's clearly working hard at creating an image of a little girl.
What is the message? What thought is she trying to provoke? That Nazis rape children? That Nazis rape Nazi children? That little girls get turned on by being raped? Don't take candy from strangers? Does the Totenkopf brooch indicate she was a participant in or became a willing member of the evil in the set, and if so, how does this make child rape an SG-appropriate masturbatory aid?
Nana herself said that a) she intended to shock (from the SG Lounge) and b) that this set was intended to live out her fantasy to be raped by nice boys in gas masks and Nazi uniforms. There never was any artistic intent. There is no thought to be provoked, no statement to be uncovered. It's simply a narrative about a Nazi rape fantasy. In this context, here on Suicide Girls, its intent was to shock for the sake of shocking. It didn't belong here.
A couple people in the Fetish Photography group are calling me and the other outraged models and members "villagers with pitchforks" guilty of a "mob mentality". They are the people driving the censorship waaahmbulance, which dilutes and trivializes the concept of censorship. Their position is that staff looked at the set and made the decisions to buy it and put it up, then got scared by the outrage and took it down.
Missy took this set down, not Alberto Gonzales. There is a world of difference. This was not a decision based on the war on porn. Given my experience with the very overwhelmed SG staff, my guess is that someone saw that a set had been submitted by a popular model and good staff photographer, they glanced at a couple photos in the middle and waved it through the system. Missy's mea culpa indicates that laxity in the review process was a factor, rather than an artistic decision that backfired. If staff has told us for years "no more bondage and blood" how could a rape fantasy possibly get a go-ahead?
This was a mistake, not censorship. Censorship is when the government shuts down your website. Censorship is when your book cannot be shipped across state borders. Censorship is when the feds take a newspaper to court to ask for prior restraint. Calling this censorship is melodramatic and takes away from the very real and very dangerous forms of censorship happening in Bush's America Try being a reporter in Russia - there's REAL censorship.
So, if you find yourself on ignore, it means that I read your comment about the set and found it unsettling enough to not want to talk to you. Maybe you're not as bad as this guy in this post, but if you find child rape and/or Nazism sexy, or think the set is "edgy" just because it's controversial, or just really enjoy the chaos, then you and I are not on the same friend wavelength:

I think this is an awesome depiction of glomorizing rape! A "two hour" rape! panties around the ankles when she wakes up! why are there no bruises like in a real rape, tho
And the Waaah Censorship crowd thinks that me purging my friends list of people who think like this guy is even more fascist than the Nazis in the set or the Nazis who took it down! Gee, whenever I see that guy's friend icon I want to imagine him masturbating to the image of Nana's teenage body dumped in the dirt. Not for me!
Just so there's no confusion: I am not saying my kink is okay and hers is not. She can take whatever photos she wants and put them on a fetish or speciality website dedicated to that sort of material. Happy fapping.
BTW, I wear that waist cincher I bought from you every chance I get! I love it! <3
