There was a bad accident in the LA area yesterday.
CHATSWORTH, Calif. (KABC) -- A Metrolink commuter train and a Union Pacific freight train collided in Chatsworth Friday afternoon, trapping passengers inside at least three Metrolink cars, one of which was burning. Seventeen people were confirmed dead. At least 135 are injured, with 80 in critical condition. An LAPD officer was among those killed in the train crash.
The rescue/recovery operation took over 12 hours. It is just wrapping up as I write this.
I wish I could have done something to help, which is why I'm at least donating blood.
UCLA Medical Center has pointed out the need for blood donation at this time. People can donate blood to UCLA Medical Center between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday. For more information on donating blood, go to the UCLA Blood and Platelet Center.
I know most people around here always have new tattoos or piercings, but if it's been at least 12 months since your last ink/piercing, please go donate blood and save lives.
