This time last year I was broke, unemployed, single and living alone in San Dimas. Now I live in Hollywood with a man I love to pieces and work at a lab, where I have just been promoted to Senior Research Chemist.

Today I was asked what my long term plans are and what it would take for me to continue working at this lab. We are currently restructuring and they want to know what role I want in the company.

I was very honest and said that the only thing keeping me from making a more long-term commitment is that I'm still thinking about going on with school and getting my Ph.D. I was told that this isn't an issue. If I would like to conduct my thesis research at work, all I have to do is find a professor willing to serve as my advisor for my work project. That, along with a few more university courses would qualify me for my degree.

It all sounds too good to be true, but I refuse to drown myself in worrying and insecurities. Wherever it takes me, I'm simply going to ride this wave of good fortune. After all, I've earned it!
