Sand, rocks, and glass have just ruined what could have been a perfectly calculated, perfectly run 100 gallon reaction.
Now everything is clogged, I can't take samples to analyze, no kinetic data may be calculated, and the 100 gallons of highly acidic stuff is useless.
I have to neutralize it all and find a way to properly dispose of it. Then I get to write up what went wrong and make suggestions as to how to fix it. After that, it's new calculations, another 6am start, and another 42 kiligrams of concentrated sulfuric acid.
