And in even happier news, our new apartment is starting to really feel like a home. We don't have much furniture, but we have everything we need and it is a very happy place.
We even adopted a kitty. Originally, I wanted a kitten, but Dmuff and I fell in love with an older cat who seemed to really want to come home with us. Griffin had no trouble adjusting to his new home and even slept in our bed with us from the very first night. He is my first pet in about 10 years and he makes me soooo happy. This is him right now:
I must admit that I feel a little bad bragging on how great my life is right now, considering the tragic events that occurred at Virginia Tech. I actually have not been able to stop thinking about it since the first reports, yesterday. It breaks my heart, and yet the scientist in me needs to know all the details and wishes she could somehow be a part of the investigation.
Just like Columbine and 9-11, I will never forget where I was and how I felt when I heard the news. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families.
Honestly, that's probably why I am so reflective tonight. I am a very lucky girl, and I am so thankful for my life and all the treasures in it.
