A couple of days ago I arrived back in the states after acomplishing a boyhood dream. To transit the Caribbean sea by ship. We left Trinidad on the 11th and arrived back in the states via the Yucatan Straight on the 19th.

It rained nearly the whole trip, the seas got really bad when we got into the straights, but overall it was quite a cool experience. Saw Jamaica rising out of the sea mist as we passed by it at dawn and philosophy and morality were constant discussion focuses which tends to happen on long ocean transits.

Aside from the lack of communication from the outside world, I could do those trips for the rest of my days.

On the home front, I lost my sail boat to damage and resulting financial difficulties due to Hurricane Ike, but otherwise I'm really quite content. My relationship with Vic shows no signs of anything but getting better. And I'm fast learning how to love a wonderful woman I've wanted to get to know better for over a year. I doubt any relationship can come of it... but learning to love her is reward enough.

Vic is having motivation issues with school, but otherwise is in great spirits and making great progress in a great many things... and may even get a piercing apprenticeship soon.

I can't remember a time when things have been going so consistently well. If I wasn't dealing with asshole captains on a daily basis, I'd have nothing to want for.
