A fire alarm goes off in the theater part of the building where I work. It is a pull station. The engineer says that it could not have gone off by itself, but the building is locked. I scour the theater for an intruder, but find none. The place is so big, though, it would take a full day to cover every nook and cranny just in that part of the building alone. It dawns on me that someone could live in there and not be seen for quite some time. Perhaps it is the ghost of the Mr. Peeler again, the old fire chief who use to work here almost a century ago. The old city fire hall is incorporated into the building. Mr. Peeler . . . what a great name for a spook.
I started spray painting my car flat grey and black camoflague. It is going to look cool!

I very much like the idea of a sailor somewhere in my future. The sea, the sea, one day it will swallow me whole.
