Insomnia is synonymous with high levels of creativity in my experience. I have been staying up late after work (and bear in mind I work until midnight) working on various projects, namely finishing my book. I was looking pretty rough. Getting up in the afternoon to go to work has been a chore.
This past Sunday I arrived at work in a half awake daze and half a moustache.
I slept all day yesterday and feel all the better for it.
I did manage to see a good program on the French Revolution, though. I sometimes think the U.S. is due for another revolution. I sicken at the thought of the way our government is being run by nepotism and plutocracy. But what is to be done? I do not trust any kind of fanaticism and fear mob mentality even more. If it were not for that, I think I'd champion more radical methods of political persuasion. And as for Middle America, I fear Alexis de Tocqueville was right in thinking that revolutions will grow scarce, and as long as most of us are fat, happy, and apathetic, we will put up with all sorts of little injustices at our expense and let a ruling elite rob us blind.
