I just got my internship lined up for next semester. I am getting a degree in hotel and lodging mgmt. but so many
hotels are slow due to the economy being bad they don't want to take interns. I went to five different hotels on
the list we were given and all of them either told me they weren't taking interns or never got back to me. I was
thinking come on people I'm working for free here you can't find anything for me to do! So....any way I ended
up getting an internship at Moreland Mansion which is an old mansion on campus property that has been
restored and they have weddings there, business events, baby showers and whatnot. They have catering
they do onsite as well. So I will be involved in event planning and setting up for events. I am just kind of
nervous because I assumed I would be at a hotel I don't know that much about event planning. I guess it will
be good if I get a job
as a food and beverage manager in a hotel. I am also nervous because I have to work 14 hrs a week for free
work my real job, and take 3 classes. I have no idea how I'm going to manage this. Any input on internships
and/or event planning would be appreciated. thanks
