Oops! It's been a few days since a new journal has appeared here.....not that anyone besides me has noticed, I'm sure. Didn't have much time for the computer over the weekend....which was not such a bad thing, since there were other things to occupy my time.
I was looking for a particular CD last night and it took me awhile to find it. I need a better system of storing my CD's than just the big pile of them on the floor that I have now. Every time I see a cool looking CD rack in a store, I shudder at the price that they are asking for it....thinking that I could build something just like it, for much less expense. The problem is, that I never get around to building anything and they still end up in a big pile on the floor, in a corner. I guess I'm going to have to do the right thing and fork over the money one of these days.....building a CD storage rack is just not in my future.
On a similar topic......I am not a slob...neither am I a neat freak. Like most people, I would suppose, I fall somewhere in between. I can tolerate a small mess for awhile....especially if it's something I'm actively working on.....but in general I keep things pretty tidy. It always used to amuse me how my Mom would react to having company come over. She always kept the house very clean and picked up....never any messes around when she was on patrol. But, when the prospect of company was in the air, it was always a major job to go around and make everything just perfect. I used to argue with her, that no one we knew, that would be visiting us, would expect to find the house looking like a spotless palace....in fact, most of their homes would look very similar....lived in. My arguments always fell on deaf ears and she would't be satisfied until the last section of yesterdays newspaper, that had fallen between the chair and the end table, was picked up and taken out.
If you ever come to visit me...don't freak if you see yesterday's newspaper between the chair and the end table....it'll be picked up soon...
Happy Monday

we badly need two CD storage racks at my house too. must be in the air or something.
additionally, messes that don't smell bad are just really hard to take care of *right this minute*. especially if it's just an old newspaper. you'll get to it!
