Holy crap!
I can't believe it's been week since I've updated...seems like only a couple of days have gone by!
I took my Mom to the city, to a new Parkinson's Dr. on Tuesday. The guy we had been seeing, was not satisfying. He didn't seem to want to answer questions and would spend only about 5 minutes with us, when we went back for her 6 month checkup. The new Dr. was wonderful. She spent at least an hour with Mom. It was good to get a second opinion and to hear that the new Dr. didn't think her Parkinson's was progressing very rapidly....that if there are any changes at all, it will be very slow. So, good news! We plan to change to the new Dr. and see her on a six month basis from now on.
Yesterday I made a trip to Des Moines. I was ready for some time off by myself. I thought about riding my bike, but took my pickup instead, so that I could go by the garden center that I used to work at and buy flowers and plants for Mom. I ended up bringing home new hostas, shrub roses, geraniums, petunias, impatients and a miniature rose bush. I'll have lots of planting to do tomorrow. I'm planning on putting the shrub roses in the 1/2 whiskey barrels that I have and then surrounding each of them with the impatients. They are a new variety of shrub rose called, 'rockin' robin'....white with red stripes and tight pedals. I'll replant them into the ground somewhere this fall, but they should really look nice in the whiskey barrels for the summer. I took time to get my haircut yesterday and it feels really good to have it short again!
Today is grocery shopping day. I'm just about out of everything....bare cupboards suck!
TGIF!
What a nice day it turned out to be!
