What a difference a day makes.
Yesterday 71 degrees...today 32 degrees and a 30mph wind. I think I might go crazy! March definitly came in like a lamb around here....I just know that lion is lurking out there somewhere....just waiting to pounce!
More feakin' paperwork on the agenda for today, so it worked out OK to just stay inside and get some things done.
I went to bed a little earlier than normal last night. I'd read all my magazines and couldn't find anything on TV to keep me interested. Of course that meant that I woke up earlier than normal this morning too. I don't NEED to wake up at 5am anymore, so when I do, I usually spend 5 minutes in bed trying to decide if I should go ahead and get up, or try to turn over and go back to sleep. Past experience has told me that turning over and going back to sleep is not going to work, so I go ahead and get up anyway.....but I always spend the 5 minutes contemplating the possibility. In a couple of months I won't mind being up early, because I can always take my coffee outside to the porch and sit and watch and listen as the sun comes up and the birds and the world around me wakes up.....it's a great way to start the day.
When the old ther mo meter hit 71 at 1:30pm yesterday, I hopped on the bike and went for a little ride....to nowhere in particular. It was just to be out and enjoying the bike and the weather. I did a 65 mile round trip loop, before stopping for gas just before getting home. It was, in a word....glorious! I met several other bikes while on the road....seems I wasn't the only one with the idea. The big V Twin cruiser ran like a horse that had been stabled all winter and wanted to get out, have it's head and run. It was difficult to keep it at or only slightly above the speed limit....but I did. Someday, I hope to be in the position where I can take 2 - 3 months and just ride around the country....just where ever I want to go and where ever the wind blows me.
Some good news from the accountant and tax man. Income tax will not be hitting me as hard as I had anticipated.....always a great thing!
Time to move onto something productive for the day.
