I guess I should update a bit, on what I meant by my last journal entry.
Mom is 83 and has Parkinson's disease. It slowly and progressively gets worse. It effects her muscle strength and control, her balance and her cognitive thinking (short term memory). On top of that, she has severe osteoporosis...which means a fall could be devastating. It's a tough job emotionally and psycologically for me, to take care of her. It's hard to see her this way, knowing what an active and hard working lady she was. She went everywhere, did everything. She was Dad's right hand. She had gardens and flowers. Now, she struggles just to move around the house and needs assitance for everything....and that is tough to see on a daily basis. Short of a cure in the next few years, it will only slowly get worse. At least it didn't hit her until a few years ago. The good part, is that she keeps a good spirit and a good frame of mind all the time.....which always amazes me.
Today she goes for physical therapy and then I take her to get her hair done. She has a standing hair appointment every Friday and it always makes her feel better afterward. I will grocery shop and do some errands while she get her hair done. It's supposed to be a beautiful sunny day....maybe around 60...before turning colder again tomorrow, so we'll both enjoy getting out of the house for awhile today.
Happy Friday!

the food looks yummy. i love big, hearty meals. i also love a big hot steamy pile of (don't even think i'm gonna say something gross) garlic mashed pototoes. oh and a side of fried chicken.

sounds yummy. i'll have to try it. have you ever put sour cream and feta cheese in your mashed potatoes? it is very good, and creamy.
