OK...so things seem to be in order for Thanksgiving now....the grocery shopping is done. I found the capons....2, nice 8lbs.ers. Tomorrow I will make the cornbread and biscuits for the stuffing, so that it can be drying out for a few days. I love it when a plan comes together! All the other items are on hand...just waiting to be prepared.
Marketing is quite an interesting thing. You've noticed I'm sure, that all the normal things that you need from a grocery store....milk, bread, butter, cereal, coffee, etc....are located at the back of the store, where you have to walk past all the other items just to get your essentials. This is not by coincidence. They are counting on you seeing and grabbing a few things on your way back to the checkout counter, that you hadn't planned on getting, when you came through the door for that gallon of milk. Shelf arrangement is critical also. Product retailers fight for shelf space that is at eye level....for better visibility of product. Of course, my eye level just happens to be a bit higher than the norm...so I'm almost always looking down or crouching to see what I want. Anyway, the whole marketing concept thing is interesting to me......and luckily I'm on to them and their impulse buying techniques!
This has been a remarkable week....weather wise. A week ago tomorrow, we had 70 degrees and tornadoes....on Tuesday the temp dropped and the rain turned to snow, dropping 4 inches with an early morning Wednesday temp of 8 degrees. Today, it has almost reached 50 degrees and only a few remanents of the snow are left....95% of it is gone. It was a nice, bright, sunny day today....I wore a long sleeved shirt, but no jacket. The up and down has given me a head cold. I noticed this morning, that my back was a bit achey...right between the shoulder blades. I tried stretching left and right, but the acheyness stayed. I think it's associated with the cold I've picked up. I took some Advil this morning and it feels better this afternoon. I think some Nyquil might be in order tonight. I didn't get the flu shot, but am thinking now, that maybe I should have. Other than an occasional cold, I'm rarely sick. They usually just run their course in a few days and then I'm over it. Other than an orthopedic Dr., when I broke my ankle 3 years ago, I haven't been to a regular Dr. in years. Can't remember the last time. It has to have been in the early 80's....so like, 25 years ago....and I don't even remember what I went for then. I'm being urged by my sister to visit one and have a physical taken. I'm inclined to think she is probably right and will probably do just that, sometime in the next 3 years....by the time I reach 50. No sense in letting something slip by that might be developing, that I'm not aware of.
It was such a nice day today....one of those "Glad to be alive" kind of days.....I hope we have a few more of them before old man winter parks his butt in our backyard.
Have a great weekend!

You better get yourself to a doctor, mister! That's just scary to go that long without being checked out. What is it with you men?
I also need to get a flu shot this year. I've had the flu once, and it was killer. 2 full weeks in bed with high fever and zero strength. By the second week I had enough strength to walk to my kitchen to make toast, but I couldn't make it back. I had to lie down on the floor in the hallway and take a nap. Awful!
Sounds like you had I nice day!
