Hmmmmmmmm......Monday.....what a concept!
I spent my weekend, trying to keep water running in the house. Switching between 2 wells, both of which want to go dry. We just haven't had enough rain the last 5 months to keep them full. Bummer.
I guess I'm going to have to see about hooking up to the rural water system...which will be quite expensive, but it seems I have little choice. My alternatives are limited. Either we get lots and lots of rain soon....or I go without running water in the house. The rain before winter is unlikely, so I it looks like I'll be hooking up to rural water supply.
Other than the water situation, my weekend was quite quiet and normal. One of my brothers was here for Sunday dinner. We usually have a roast, with potatoes, carrots, salad, etc. but I was getting bored with that. So, I whipped up some shell type pasta, a great meat sauce and garlic toast, with baked potato and a green salad instead....it was really good....and a nice change from the typical Sunday fare. I'm sure next Sunday we'll be back to a beef or pork roast. I managed to get a 20 minute nap in the mid afternoon....amazing what 20 minutes of snooze time will do for you.
Tornadoes ripped through the area on Saturday night. The closest one to me was about 60 miles....I'd like to keep it that way. Many homes and farms were damaged and there was one fatality. The wind blew all weekend long, from Friday until about 8pm last night. The local reporting weather station reported the largest gust was around 55 mph, but I'm pretty sure we had sustained wind in the 35 mph range all weekend long. When I stepped outside before going to bed last night, the wind was gone and it was errily quiet after having the wind howling and the house shaking for 3 days straight.
Today is wash day and since I'm having water problems, one of my sister - in - laws has graciously volenteered to do my laundry. I have to gather it all up soon and get it to her. Mondays became my washing day when I worked in the city and always had Mondays off. The tradition continues.
That's about it for now.....but the day is young yet....almost anything could happen!
Hope Monday treats ya right!

Hey! New picture! Nice to see a little more of what you look like
My life has been so crazy and busy at the moment, Im just back home after the whole weekend. Hope I can catch up with everyone a bit better soon and that you're well too. Hope there arent any more problems with the tornadoes. Its actually been really windy here too and they did a warning one night but obviously we would rarely see anything like you get over there xx
