ill start with my dream last night, i was asked friday "what do you most look forward too in life" and i didnt have a really solid answer i will admit i used the cliche kids, marriage yadda yadda which i truly do but was very impersonal towards me. so as i pondered last night before i went to bed i still had not yet found a suitable answer. until i had this dream:
what i look forward to most in life, is, standing in front of my light blue Georgian mini-mansion nothing like a mansion but more similar in size to the house in Forrest Gump . light blue 3 forward facing windows on the second level a front porch that stretches across the 1st floor with nice white pillars hold up the black shingle cover. it has a huge green front lawn with big willow trees swaying in the breeze. a black tire swing hung from a yellow rope turns and winds as the big white clouds float by. im standing there with my wife, who's face i obviously cant see because i view this scene from behind us. Me in a dark brown suit, my wife my 1st born daughter and two younger sons. My daughter has her moms hair and her grandmothers eyes i don't know how i knew it was her moms hair but i just felt it. the reason this is viewed from behind because a black sedan pulls up and it's my parents coming out to see my new house, i assume i am no longer in the military but independently practicing law because of my suit and my age says i got out before the full 20 years i originally planed in return i must have used my g.i. bill money to pay for the law school classes. my parents obviously stay for dinner on my big southern dinning room table, which my wife has prepared a full chicken with mashed potatoes, corn, steamed vegetables, and a blueberry pie for dessert, not with out my help of course. i look forward to that, i look forward to my daughter in her sun dress and big straw hat eating fresh strawberries while my boys play in the stream. i look forward to friendly neighbors and not uncommon scenes of people riding bikes rather than driving. i look forward to sitting on the porch swing with my wife as grandparents and smiling at each other while we try and act as two teenagers who have just fallen madly in love for the passed 30 years......
