Warning: Geeky Update
Ive spent the last 24 hours troubleshooting my companys' border Cisco Routers. Well, One router in particular, One of the 3825 series at our facility. One of our ISPs were down. After numerous complaints to the ISP, Multiple tickets open, and me yelling at people they assured me that the line on their end was indeed, up. I check the router. Protocol up, Link up. Up Up Up, everything is up. Why wont it work? I wrote the configuration myself. I have inspected the code inside and out. Nothing has changed. My NOC guys checked over the configuration, No problems. I forwarded the problem on to a Network Consultant that I use sometimes. He took one look at it and said "The network is not defined"
24 hours and I relieze that it is one of the stupid problems in the world and everyone overlooked it. Added the linke "Network x.x.x.x" and Poof. It comes up. Turns out BGP updates werent being sent to our ISP so they dropped our routing. Why they didnt mention this to me I dont know.
