Feelings matter.
Growth and change don't happen without an emotional root.
Designing, building & blossoming my clients empires needs a foundation of feels.
My clients truly, deeply, lovingly care about their people.
They also truly, deeply, lovingly care about people taking action, instead of just sitting there, apathetically ignoring them.
Lately I`ve been helping them 'two birds, one stone' style, by having them take a break from their art for a minute, and focus on improving their fan's experience.
How?
Landing pages.
Emotionally branded landing pages ease fans into signing up, voting-with-dollars, or changing their lives in some way.
(A landing page is basically a clean, clear, beautiful web-page designed to achieve a single, simple action. You've probably seen major one's like Twitter's, Facebook's, or Google's home page.)
ACTION, JACKSON.
Decisions are backed up by action.
If your fans aren't taking actions you want, then they haven't decided in your favor.
Think about it.
Event promos. Album releases. Charity drives.
All of 'em use landing pages, and all of 'em get peeps to take action.
If you're a model or photographer, understand how landing pages set the tone for your fans and guide them towards the next steps on their journey is key.
'Press Kit' landing pages bless the media with an amazing experience, make their lives easy, and help them feel great -- all while spreading your message.
You can make a landing page for almost anything you want, and it'll compel response from your fans.
It's all about...
FIRST F***ING IMPRESSIONS.
Landing pages are the internet era's "first impression."
They're the red carpet to your event and the lobby of your restaurant.
So much power in a single page and...
...are you using any?
Sadly, most models & photogs I see put zero energy into this.
They think the total experience for their fans is just "making the art" ...and that's it.
They serve up their photos with little fanfare, weak words, and poor design for an overall emotionless experience.
It's a fact: bland preparation -> bland emotions -> bland actions.
Still, it's hard to find someone in the beauty industry who uses landing pages.
Even though they matter, and it's so easy to get started.
Whether you want people to:
- -LIKE your latest set
- -BUY your etsy prints
- -FOLLOW you on instagram
You have the power and the chance to really put together something that shines, and helps people feel good about moving forward with you.
Art by itself rarely gets people to 'act', but art prepared, served, and bundled with an emotional story does.
And if you get that, and you wanna have a page that reaches out to your fans, but you don't feel like taking on another responsibility, you can always...
COLLAB MORE (& BETTER).
Models have no problem partnering with a photographer to create something amazing together.
Well, wouldn't it be easy to also partner with a web designer, copywriter, or brand agency and create a truly moving landing page?
It's really easy. (it is!)
There are people out there who'd love to collaborate with a ryzing model/photographer.
Start googling. Hit up craigslist. There's probably even people on the SG forums.
And although I'm way beyond my landing page design days, I'm always open to fun possibilities and I'll at least do what I can to point you in the right direction.
For example: if you're interested in making your own, check out the amazing landing page builder: unbounce.com
"RANT" WRAP-UP ;)
You're beautiful, yes.
And so are your fans.
And you can be a beautiful person who really cares, and serves that beauty on a silver platter...
...Or you can just "make art" and not give a fuck about your fan's total experience.
Personally, I'd love to see more beautiful people blessing fans with a really great experience from start to finish -- showing lotsa love every step of the way.
Hey... I can dream :)
