Just kidding. It's already here, full force. I just like to say it because it reminds me that Game of Thrones is back SO soon (squeeeeee). Speaking of Game of Thrones....I recently have tried to introduce it to my husband in an attempt to rope him in before the new season (it was failed, he doesn't have the patience for fantasy) and he pointed out that Jamie Lannister looks an AWFUL lot like Prince Charming of Shrek.
How did I never realize this before?!
Anyways. Winter is here indeed. We are moving to Florida at the end of the summer, so I was hoping for a real snowy winter. My wish has been granted! Not only have we gotten snow multiple times each month, we got a huge blizzard just last week. 2 feet of snow! My next door neighbor has a snowblower so he plowed out our sidewalk and cars and I baked him some cookies as a thank you. It was fun being snowed in for a couple days while they plowed out the rest of the neighborhood, though!
that was a fun couple days. We made some yummy food. We bought food to make a couple of different meals while the storm was happening but we ended up watching a special on pizza on the Food Network and just HAD to have margherita pizza. So we whipped up one of those
and the next day we had poached eggs over latkas with sausage gravy and more sausage.
nom nom nom.
All this snow has put me in a major mood for comfort food. The night before last I experimented with a savory style butternut squash soup (since the mister has never had it before but doesn't like the traditional fall sweet and spicy dishes). I used some of the delicious saffron my darling @elody sent me to do a Saffron Butternut Squash soup with a chipotle bacon cream. Served it with some yummy 4 cheese grilled cheese sammies. All i had was turkey bacon, though. Which was alright considering I also had bacon fat in the fridge :)
I have no idea what I want to make for dinner tonight. Any suggestions?
It's been a very busy few months! We are getting ready for our move to Florida so that has been stressful, but a good stressful. It's exciting knowing I'll be living on a beach again soon. I just wish we had an easier time of finding a decent short-term rental so we don't get stuck in a lease and missing a nice opportunity to buy a good home. I really want to buy as soon as possible with the market being so great right now and all.
My cat also turns 23 years old this month! Can you believe that?! 23! That's like 112 in human years!! She is such a trooper. I don't think she will survive the move to Florida, though. I think it will be too stressful for her. Hopefully I have my mother convinced to move into our townhouse and take care of her once we move. She's such a funny little cat. I don't care how old she gets, I still love annoying the crap out of her.
Forced affection = cat wanting to kill me EVERY time. i love it.
she sleeps like a creepy old lady with her eyes open sometimes....
On a sadder note, I had to rehome my hedgehog Arnold. For health reasons of my own I could no longer care for him the way he deserved and was used to. But we gave him to a really great family, three kids and a stay at home mom. He will get lots of love. I miss him so much.
Not much else happening here. I have a set in Member Review currently with the always beautiful @Acacia who I love so dearly. Thank you for all of the continued love on it! We have been wanting to shoot a multi together for years, since 2008 I think? I would love to see it make the front page. It was shot at the Las Vegas shootfest by @thelabrat. If you haven't seen it, trust me...you want to see this set! :)
I also have a set coming out March 12 that was shot by my beautiful blonde bombshell @Waikiki so be sure to keep your eyes peeled! it's very different than anything I've ever done. It's actually pretty close to me, I wear nightgowns like this to sleep and rock my pearls every occasion I can. Now you get a sneak peak into what a suburban housewife I am ;)
Well, that is all my darlings. Until we meet again....
