It all started the day we found out we had to open up a new Red Robin store... my co-worker Keith and I drove down, opened up the store, got all situated in the hotel and then got a phone call from a friend of ours. He said he had two free weekend passes to Summer Camp festival in Illinois and if we could make the trip, we could have em. So Friday morning we told our manager down there that there was a death in Keith's family and we had to go home. (Bad Karma!). So we headed to Chillicothe, IL to get fucked up for a weekend with a bunch of hippies, good music, and good friends. We got there on Friday night just in time to see The Flaming Lips (holy crap, most incredibe live show ive ever seen...esp rolling on ecstasy!). I normally don't do drugs at all but i felt the festival called for some madness....so I indulged myself. Besides, everyone else I was there with was either rolling, tripping, or something or another so I figured what the hell. If I'm gonna do another drug, it might as well be rolling balls at a Flaming Lips show! It was seriously the most amazing weekend, I got to see Moe, Umphreys McGee, OAR, Hot Buttered Rum, Blind Melon, The Roots, G Love and the Special Sauce, Jah Roots, and so many more amazing bands. We also had to leave early to get back to work at our normal Red Robin on time, so we ended up leaving Saturday night instead of Sunday. My buddy Keith had driven, and he was running on about 4 hours sleep in the past 30 hours...so he wasn't feeling his best. I SWEAR HE WASN'T DRINKING OR ON ANY DRUGS!!!!! We werent even smoking pot because we wanted to stay awake and keep Mary Jane in the trunk. I immediately passed out in the car (we left around 1 am) and awoke at 8 am to Keith losing control of the car in Ohio and sliding off the road. He had hid a pot hole, and then another car, and both cars lost control and skidded off the road. Luckily nobody was hurt in that accident, our passanger side of the car was almost totally demolished and the window had shattered all over myself. This is why when we continued on our way (miraculously the car wasn't totaled) I chose to sit in the backseat instead of the front, which is a decision that saved my life!!! I fell back asleep and woke up around 2 pm to the car flipping upside down into the other side of the interstate 79 in Morgantown, WV. Keith had hit a dip in the grass median, and flipped the car sending it skidding across the highway, it hit the guardrail and did a 360 back across the lanes...back into the median, which made it flip another 2 times before landing upright. Keith and I both climbed out terrified but okay....he didn't even have a scratch on him! I didn't even feel the pain in my neck and shoulders until I was already on teh stretcher being rushed to the hospital where I spent the next 24 hours.
