Thank you again to everyone for my birthday wishes and all the awsome helpful advice for my new vinyl babies! It looks like I've got alotta work ahead of me in the upkeep arena. I hadn't put much thought into it yet other than buy, buy, buy! I actually just bought the new Andrew Bird record for myself for my birthday..... AWSOME!
The experience at the indy races blew me away. I had been feeling a bit reserved about it until we actually got there and the heat and thunderous noise from the track swept me off my feet. It was also so much more engaging that we got to listen in on the pit crews with the 'trackscan' headphones. Pumped the intensity level of the race up a bit! And then lets see.... The lake was relaxing. I got out in the canoe some, but paddling a canoe around in an open man-made lake is not as fun as it sounds. So I spent most of my time in the hot tub. Oh, and I also took a horseback ride around in the woods around the lake. It's good to get back into that. Besides it gives you a much better perspective of the land and most wildlife arn't afraid of the horses so you can sometimes get a different glimpse of the forrest when on them.
Other than all that I've decided that I might hate vacations just a little.... They always perpetuate the desire for more vacations! Sheesh. And believe me, another vacation is the last thing my wallet can handle right now. This economic downturn as they say, has hit the tattoo industry a bit hard lately. I can't really be suprised though. When people are down on their luck and money, the last thing they need is a tattoo.
But enough woe and misery! I'm really excited about this movie trailer I ran across the other day. 'The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus' It was in the works when Heath Ledger passed away and had been unfinished. To preserve the visual masterpiece Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp have stepped in to play Heath's charater in the remainder of the film. Everything about this movie stuns me and I really can't wait. I believe I've heard that it'll be coming out sometime around Christmas.... So, until then please check out the trailer and get excited too. It looks like a fantasy masterpiece. And besides Tom Waits plays the Devil! What more could you want?
