take one stefanie. take one punchy (sarah) and take one natalie. mix 'em up and throw them in new york city in a room with brody armstrong and they are happy happy girls.
I coveted punchy from our usual meeting spot in Grand Central. Poor baby, she just got her wisdom teeth pulled on tuesday! She was a bit swollen, but it was ok. She had lots o' pills hidden away in an altoids tin.
We met up with Stefanie in the Sanrio store in times square. Lots of hello kittyness. it was rad.
So we walk around for a while. Get to CBGB's. Stand on line for a while. None of us felt we were dressed "punk" enough, but the kids who were there weren't all that anyway. I kind of miss that scene.
Anyways, so we get to the front of the line and we see a little woman with bleached hair and chucks. Guess who it was? Janine Garofalo! When we got in we tried to look for her but no luck.
The opening band was actually my friends band, AT A LOSS - right outta yonkers! (even tho EVERYONE out of westchester or upper jersey says they're from NYC, esp bands...not those long island kids tho.)
So i saw lots of people i know there. Allie, briana, meghan - a bunch of chicks i've met via morgan storm, tom m (of the BANNED) and maybe one or two other people).
After At A Loss played, the distillers took their sweet ass time. The second brody jumped at the mic the fucking place was crazy. After a few minutes i feel someone grab a hold of me from the back, it was punchy. she wanted to get to theback, afraid someone was gonna hit her in the mouth.
So we get to the back, a few min later stefanie joins us. We're standing there and notice "oh shit. janine garafalo is right there" so after a few songs we spoke with her and got pics!! i'll post it as soon as stef sends it to me. Also, one of the guys from QOTSA was there. And the singer from MRC was totally checkin me out.
but whatevs. i have my little ...thing...with MY Chemical Romance.
THEN after the show this girl gives me a flyer.
A GLOBAL THREAT are playin cb's this saturday.
oh goodness. i fucking LOVE that band. i think the zombie vandals and the casualties are playing as well.
i was talking to her about AGT and she kept talking about her boyfriend who was standing aside her.
one of the guys from the casualties! haha! man long time no see. we were talking about STAND andKleber.
and junk.
so yeah im gonna say this again, i miss being in the punk scene. im thinking about dressin up and going to the show on sat. ...maybe.
anyways, stef wanted to take a cab to the pt authority. so we did. now i remember why i never ever wanted to take a NYC cab. we almost died like 3 times. fucker. i got home about an hour ago.
i had so much fun.
i love the distillers.
and i love stef + punchy.
oh yeah.
Brody had "red heads do it better" written on her arm.
