I can't say that I like Twilight. I don't really see whats so good about it. But, as a vampire aficionado I have the obligation to read this and also watch the movie. I pushed through the book and came to the conclusion that the plot is weak. I guess if I read the whole series, it would make sense, though. But, I don't see that happening.
To sum up this book:
One Mary-sue-ish main character + mind numbingly gorgeous mystical sparkly vampire + instantaneous love + random conflict = twilight.

Why a Mary Sue? Well she self describes herself as plain, but she comes to a new school and instantly has several admirers and tons a bff girlfriend-types, and lets not forget the undying affection from everyone favorite Edward Cullen.
Anyway, want to read a GOOD vampire series. Read The Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris, then watch the first book on HBO's True Blood. You will not be disappointed.
