Transformers
Let me start off by saying that I am and always will be a Transformers fan if not a Transformers Geek. I remember seeing the animated Transformers Movie in the theaters back when I was but a child and then of course the first live action movie a couple of years ago. So to say that I was excited to see the new one is a bit of an understatement, I had to everything I could to keep my mind off it until tonight just to keep sane. It may or may not have worked thats for others to decide but I did just get home from seeing Revenge of the Fallen and it made my night.
First off it was a visually beautiful movie. The effects and acting were top notch, even John Turturros character was delightful this time around unlike the first live action film where his character was the weakest part. Of course seeing Megan Fox running so much didnt hurt either, but she did a great job playing Mikaela and really made that character likeable.
Then there was the story line, and I have to say that this was a unique take on the Transformers story. Its not something that Ive seen before but in the same sense it was similar to other story lines, which made it that much better. It was as if they were trying to keep to and original ideas but still have it resonate with the fans. Well it worked and I was impressed, so kudos to them for that. The idea that the Transformers have been to earth before is kind of the idea where Beast wars came from and the Energon gathering to the point of planetary destruction regardless of life on the planet by the Deceptacons is very much first gen story. So to incorporate all that in to one story line made me very happy. Also this story was written for the adult Transformer fan, but also the child fan, for the adult fan you have the seriousness of the story and the adult themes like Devastater having balls and newly created robots have a penis gun. But for the children everything rapped up nicely and by children I mean teens and so on.
So in short if you like Transformers and enjoy Michael Bay films go to this one if not well then you might want to stay away. I will of course end up buying it and the soundtrack because I love music as well as Transformers and look they are together how fun.
Until Next time
