All in all, a pretty damn good day.
BHL & I had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Normally, I avoid corporate food like the plague, but CF is an exception. Then we wandered around Southdale for awhile. She bought me a new pair of shoes...some cool Kenneth Cole shiny black bowling-shoe type thingies ('tis the season for clearance sales). She's so nice sometimes.
Then, we went to the Auto Show. There are so many cars I want it's not even funny. I think this year is going to be the year.
I really, really liked the new Acura TL. And, for what you get, it's a hell of a deal.
As always, I eyed up the VW Passat. It's been my favorite car for about 4 years. I also got to sit in VW's new ultra luxury car, the Phaeton. What a fine vehicle! Mercedes S-Class quality for $20K less (although, at $64K, waaay out of my league). BHL & I are both suckers for VW's, and she is going to replace her Golf with a Jetta this year.
Volvo's new S40 really caught my eye, too. Nice looks, decent room, awesome build quality. More like an Audi A4, but about $5K cheaper.
I've liked the looks of the new Nissan Maxima, but I was disappointed in it in the flesh. The doors had a really hollow thunk when you shut them.
They had the new '05 Mustang there, too. Never been a Pony/Muscle Car guy, but it was SAWEET!
Of course, I'm still thinking about getting a barge, like a '99 Cadillac DeVille. I'm so torn.
Time to start saving the pennies...

There is never a better time then now... buy what you want! I wanted a Porsche, so I bought a Porsche, why the fuck not.
