While I am definitely much happier with my position in life now, I do admit I still want a real animation or modelling job.
Sadly, nothing still seems to come my way. Of course, I am not sure if a lot of it has to do with my location (lets face it, all there is out here is Midway games and High Voltage mainly...then a few smaller studios). Add to the fact that I really not been inspired to do much with the past few months. I started on a character head, but that is about it. I haven't touched it since February.
It is never a good thing to know that you only get 1 actual response after nearly 9 months of graduating. Part of me wants to give up, but a part of me says that something will come my way.
It is much harder to see it actually happening though.
I know that I should try a move out West (either Portland or LA...though for cost reasons, I am leaning towards Portland, though I am not sure how well the film/animation community is out there). That would probably be the best thing for me. In the meantime though I should try to find something to do to build up for a new demo reel and sorts. doesn't have to be much...just get rid of some of the old student projects that are in there (even if it just a walk cycle or some random models).
Now...if I can only figure out how to do that, yet save up enough money to get myself a new computer (probably an iMac if the whole boot camp thing is truly great), and pay off most of my 2,300 credit card bill when I only earn about $300 spending cash month. I might have to practice self control *gasp* Good thing nothing really good is coming out until Gears of War anyways. And that PS3 doesn't seem to interest me that much as it is.
