I was hoping that my next entry was going to have good news...but I don't.
Well, anyways, I might as well tell you. I had my first job interview on Tuesday. It was for a cell phone game company downtown. The company is only about 12 people, but they make some big named titles (Splinter Cell and they are working on Sim City as well). Tough business and mostly 2D work, but it still is getting my foot through the door.
The interview seemed more like an orientation than an interview. They liked my reel. They showed me how to do things. And they even refered to stuff as to "what I was getting into" rather than just "tasks."
But I didn't get the job....yet anyways. I have to do an art test. Problem is, they were supposed to email me the test (one to show I can draw concept art on model...you know, like if I draw Mickey, it better look like Mickey....test my photoshop abilities, and test my Maya abilities). I know that I can do the test...and the way it sounded, it looked liek as long as I finished them, I will get the job (not trying to sound too overconfident though). Hopefully I will get them today, finish them, then turn them in tomarrow and finally deliver the good news.
Don't know what the job pays or benefits are...but hey, who cares. As long as I get more than the $400-$500 I earn from working JC Penney's, I will be happy. And it is experience.
