It is amazing how much the end of the holidays can change your outlook.
Dec. 23rd, I felt lost and depress. I was unsure of where I was going. Stressed out. And very angry/bitter.
Then Christmas Eve came along. I looked foward to the day for a few reasons. First of all, the last day for holiday shopping...and luckily, it is not that busy (as it stereotypically is). It was a nice day of work. For lunch, my friends when to KFC, but I wasn't in the mood for chicken. I stopped up at Gamestop to say hi to them, but ended up staying my entire lunch there. I saw they had Guitar Hero and had to pick it up. Not only that, my manager at Gamestop thanked me with gift too, which was very nice and very generous of him. After work, I went to my grandfathers for dinner. Nothing fancy though. On TV, there was a special about WGN's (TV station in Chicago) childrens programming over the years (Bozo's Circus obviously being the main highlight). Talk about deja vu. I remember watching Bozo as a kid and I think I even remembered some of those parts. Man...I am old.
Christmas was its usual self. Big family get together. Turkey. Christmas Story. And a Bears game this year. Bears won, which was very nice, my cousin has a relative on his wife's side that could possibly get me a job in making commercials, so he is going to put in a good word for me. And my cousins hogged the XBox 360. My sister hogged Guitar Hero on the other hand. I didn't get much this year. A good amount of money, Prince of Persia for the Xbox (which I can't play for a bit, but that is ok...I need to replay the others as it is), and Sin City extended version. Plus, Best Buy gift cards from the aunts, uncles, and cousins. I got about $370 of cash and gift cards that can go towards an HDTV...so now I can experience the 360 at it fullest. Glee.
As for today, looked at HDTVs at Best Buy. I will either get a 26' CRT or a 20' LCD (both from Samsung). All depends on if I want to replace my TV or monitor. Seeing how the monitor works fine, but the TV has a burnt pixel and disorientation that occurs at the top...I am leaning towards the CRT. Still got time though.
I know hours for work will be short this time of year now. So I should be a bit conservative. I will probably the $450 CRT. Not widescreen, but it works. Besides, I don't know if I really need widescreen anyways. And besides that, I want to make to NYC this Feb for my birthday. It will be a short trip, but a fun one. And cheap (hopefully).
Things are coming up Milhouse.
