Yikes! That is pretty bad. The binder in student grade paints and gesso is too variable andjust not worth the risk. What are you going to do with the piece?

I'm going to put it up on my wall and enjoy it while it lasts. That's about all I can do; to fix it I'd have to rebuild the ground which isn't really feasible with paint all around the surface.
