The well-established comic festival Comicdom Con Athens 2012 (30 MARCH-1 APRIL 2012) opens its gates to the Athenian public featuring once more international guests talking about their art, young and independent artists showcasing their creative talent, the exhibition 2000 A.D.:The Judge Dredd Revolution, screenings and workshops, the renowned, well-stocked bazaar with new comic publications from the Greek publishing houses, the Cosplay Competition, Comicdom Awards, and more...
The only Greek festival exclusively devoted to comics, Comicdom Con Athens, is organized for the seventh consecutive year at the Hellenic American Union.
Special guests for this year are: the popular Italian artist Milo Manara, the distinguished British screenwriter Mike Carey creator among other of X-MEN Legacy, the rising Turk artist Yildiray Cinar, and the British comics artist Rufus Dayglo, widely known for relaunching Tank Girl. American independent cartoonist Douglas Paszkiewicz (invited by Jemma Press Publications), and British illustrator Zara Slattery (in cooperation with the British Council) are also included in the guests list.
The exhibition "2000 A.D.: The Judge Dredd Revolution", is also organized as part of the festival and in cooperation with the renowned British artist Rufus Dayglo. The exhibition is dedicated to the historic and highly influential British comics anthology 2000 A.D., which is the home of Judge Dredd, one of the most popular comic characters worldwide.
The animated film Dr Seuss The Lorax is being premiered in Greece as part of the festivals screenings. The program also includes screenings of the films TheIndependents and Despicable Me. Finally, integral part of this years festival is a rather interesting program for children based on creativity and fantasy.
